This is what some customers are saying about our louver’s

Hi Alex,

I just wanted to let you know how well the louvers are working. My new RV7A ran way too hot even after the engine had broken in. The IO-360 cowling in particular does not have enough outlet area for sufficient flow in the tri-gear application since the outlet is mostly obstructed by gear structure. Adding the louvers to the bottom of the cowl underneath each cylinder bank has dropped my CHT's by as much as 40F. I have not been able to detect any loss in speed either so this is a great solution. The attached pictures show that they even look good!

Hi Alex,
Thanks for promptly sending the louvers. After installation, with all operating parameters being equal, my CHTs dropped an average of 30 deg and my oil temp dropped an average of 20 deg. By average, I am referring to takeoff, climb, and cruise. I am very pleased and you may use me as a testimonial if you want.
Thank you,
Scott Diffenbaugh RV-7A

Alex,
Installed the louvers this weekend and they work GREAT.
Head cyl temps= Cruse in the 350's leaned, Climb to 6500 ft, 1200 ft min., 130 mph ,never got over 390's.
Thanks,

Rich

The Handy Jack

The Following photos show the easy process of lifting an RV-6 for wheel removal

RV HandyJack 3_004
RV HandyJack 2_003

Step One Unhook the lifting strap by removing the wing nut and bolt from the swiveling support backet. Picture above

RV HandyJack 5_006
RV HandyJack 4_004

Step Two Place the Handy Jack in parallel alignment over the wheel while centering the lifting strap directly over the gear leg. Picture above left

Step Three Loop the lifting strap COMPLETELY around the gear leg, re-attatch to support bracket and lift the Handy Jack to a taut position using a standard floor jack. Do NOT use a bottle jack or any other jack that does not have a saddle or cradle to capture the Handy Jack lifting pad. The lifting pad does not have to ramain parallel to the floor jack saddle as long as it is captured with in the crater of the saddle. Picture above right

Step Four Carefully lift the aircraft off the ground ensuring that the lifting strap remains in the same position. It will become tighter as the aircraft is lifted. Remove wheel, place a suitable block under the exposed gear leg and lower the aircraft on to it for safety until ready to re-install wheel. Picture above and below
